Sashiko Indigo Jacket

Sashiko Indigo Jacket
Handmade, new with tags and originally from Thailand- this jacket is full of amazing hand techniques. The indigo dye technique used to place the pattern on- within the fabric involved folding and tying very tight stitching to keep some areas of the cloth in it’s original white. This allows the rest of the untied fabric to be dyed dark blue with multiple dips into the indigo vat. Then the various pieces of cloth have been sewn into this garment.
This garment still smells like indigo dye to me, I would be very careful to prewash and rinse the garment in cool water to see if there is still any dye to rinse out.
