Hand dye technique used with a twist

Scarf is felted wool which has been machine knit by hand. After knitting is complete, a binding and tying technique traditional used in resist dyeing is used in order to create texture and lock in shaping through felting. This technique is referred to as Shibori and is capable of altering the landscape of the knit material. This texture becomes part and parcel of the design to interlock the scarf.

Scarf can be “latched” by locking the bumps into each other. Therefore this piece can be styled a multitude of ways.

This wool yarn was first dyed with koolaid in order to achieve some of the color change occurring.

Scarf is 6” x 40.5”

I recommend dry clean only for this piece.
