This collar was hand knit using commercial yarn which were dyed with koolaid. The collar has had shibori bumps felted into its surface. This is traditionally a dyeing technique but here used with felting creates a texture that becomes semi permanent to the surface of the collar. These “bumps” also become a way to fasten the color. Simply press one into another and you’ve buttoned it!
I recommend dry cleaning only for this piece.
